East Coast adventure!

We're having a great time on our holiday. We spent a few nights on Campobello Island and then the past week in Prince Edward Island. We head to the Eastern Townships tomorrow for a few days and then head home.

Yay for summer holidays!

We have enjoyed the first two weeks of summer break! Trips to the beach, the zoo, the movies... And Ben isn't even off work yet!

Jack, Rory and I spent a day last week at the Papanack Zoo.

Celebrating my sister Sarah's 20th birthday!

We took in a movie (Ice Age 4). Our first experience with 3D at the movie theatre...Rory wasn't entirely sure about the glasses, but he came around.

Maggie is enormous.

Spending time with friends!

Hourray for summer holidays!

The big reveal...

Well, we are still trying to wrap our heads around this one because I was certain we only made boys, but we are soooooo excited and happy to announce that we are expecting a little baby GIRL!

We had another ultrasound today that showed a very healthy, active and beautiful little girl!

She will have her work cut out for her with two big brothers, but we couldn't be more pleased.

Introducing little miss Britton!

An eventful weekend

Well, summer is off to an interesting start! We had a busy weekend, swimming at our local provincial park, riding bikes, backyard camping, and we topped it all off with a trip to the ER! Jack had a bad encounter with the corner of the wall.

The rest of the weekend was great, though!

Rory, getting excited for a day at the beach!

Fun at Fitzroy Provincial Park!

Picnic lunch

Fun with Daddy in the Ottawa River!

Rory, triking around the loop.

First attempt at ditching the training wheels!

Jack, after the doctors at CHEO put him back together again.

Ben, trying to outsmart the wasps on our roof by installing eavestrophing after they (hopefully) went to bed.

Anyone have any good (Eco/kid/pet/pregnant lady friendly) tips on how to get rid of persistent wasps???

We had a great Father's Day weekend! We spent Saturday on the boat with the boys, and then Sunday was spent playing in the pool and just hanging around outside. The school year is finally starting to wind down and we are all looking forward to summer!

This is a slide show that the boys and I made for Ben for Father's Day. (Click on the arrow to play the slide show.)

Here we grow again!

We are pleased to announce that we are expecting our third little one, due late in the fall.

This little bundle has been long expected, and the whole family is eagerly anticipating his or her arrival!

Rory has been looking through our book "What's in mummy's tummy?" to try and figure everything out.

Spring Break, 2012

We just got back from the most wonderful holiday in Florida. Ben's brother and sister-in-law recently moved just outside of Tampa to a beautiful community called Fishhawk Ranch. It was really a perfect vacation. We got to visit with family that we wish we could see more often, explore all kinds of interesting corners of Florida, do some of the tourist things, and then come back to a gorgeous home at the end of the day to de-salt and de-sand the kids, sit on the lanai and watch the sun set.

Here are a few of the highlights! (WARNING: Lots of pictures.)

Rory, very excited for his first plane ride ever!

Pizza-making party with the cousins.

Rub-a-dub-dub.

We went to Siesta Key Beach- near Sarasota. Rory thought that the sand was snow at first.

Charlie making sandcastles.

Running into the waves.

Rory and I taking a break from swimming. Rory has to wear his earband when near the water after having had surgery to put tubes in his ears in November.

Playing at the splashpad in Ahren and Kath's neighbourhood.

Boating near St. Petersburg.

Captain Kath.

Auntie Jen and Mackenzie.

Kath and Charlie.

A really big bridge that we boated under.

Ahren, driving the boat and humouring me by slowing down.

Kenzie.

Scuba-Kenz.

We "anchored" off the shore of Egmont Key. (Really, we tied the anchor to a palm tree because we couldn't figure out how to get the thing to stay put in the sand.)
Funny story moments before this was taken. Kath (ever a superhero in my eyes) took the initial plunge off the boat to try and anchor. Seconds after she jumped in the water, a very large manatee surfaced pretty much right behind her. She was a trooper and just kept on swimming. I think they eat seaweed, but still. A fairly impressive swimming partner!

Young love.

Bathing beauties.

Sunkissed family!
Ahren and Charlie on the ride back.
Kath and I took the bigger kids to Disney World while the little boys went with the dads to the Kennedy Space Center. Fun was had by all. (But more was had by the Disney crew. Two 2 year olds are hard to entertain. Good on the dads for trying!)

Hard to say who was more excited for the Winnie the Pooh ride...

Patiently awaiting their turn.

 "I love this place, Mom."

Kath and Kenzie and Dumbo.

Meeting Buzz Lightyear. Highlight of this boy's life thus far.

On the Buzz Lightyear ride!

Fancy ride.

Princess Mackenzie and Sir Jack.

One tuckered out princess at the end of our Disney day. Too cute.

Rory and Kenz waiting for the St. Patrick's Day cupcakes to be ready.

Ben's favourite part of the trip was Ahren's new car...

Ahren and Kath's beautiful house. Not a bad place for a holiday!

We spent our evenings on the lanai. The weather was perfect, every day.

Fun backyard!

Rory *almost* made it home without falling asleep... we had an early start to the day and he decided to take a cat nap at the airport.
