The Brittons in Cape Breton, 2011

We arrived in Cape Breton on July 16th and have been having a great time so far! It was a long drive to get here, but the kids did well (and so did Granny Joanne in the back between the car seats!) and we are enjoying our holiday.  We will be here for two weeks and are loving every minute!

A thick fog rolled in. We couldn't see the beach or the island across from the house... it felt very celtic.

Fun at the boat

We went to visit Grandpa and Grandma at the boat yesterday and had lots of fun!

Jack went swimming in the lake, right off the boat! This was a first for him and he did GREAT!
 Swimming lessons definitely paid off!

10 Year Anniversary

Ben and I recently celebrated our ten year wedding anniversary! It's hard to believe that ten years has gone by, and I feel so blessed and fortunate for all of the wonderful things that have followed.

This weekend we got to take a little break from two of those wonderful things... My mom watched the boys, and Ben and I went to the Wakefield Mill and Spa ( http://www.wakefieldmill.com/ ) for an overnight stay. The town of Wakefield is so cute- lots of great restaurants, live music and shopping. We indulged in that a  little bit, but spent most of our time relaxing at the inn itself.  It was a great place to celebrate 10 years.

Can't quite believe that my littlest boy is two.

Rory got something called "Crazy Fort" from Grandma and Grandpa. Rory, Jack and Ben are having lots of fun with it!

Lounging on the long weekend...

We are visiting Ayer's Cliff for the long weekend. So far, highlights include swinging in the tree at Grandpa Paul's, "swimming" in Granny's hot tub, and hanging out in the hammock.

Also, not sleeping has been the preferred pastime of one little boy... Rory does not sleep well away from home! I hope this doesn't give any indication of what is to come at the cottage!

Mother's Day Weekend

 

We have had a great Mother's Day weekend! I awoke this morning to some beautiful cards made by my two boys, and some lovely hand painted and bejewelled butterfly magnets for me to bring to my classroom. Jack was pretty excited about it... he had been telling me about the surprise he had for me for days now!

We went out for brunch with my mom's side of the family (an annual tradition) and had a great day.

Poor Rory had a fall earlier in the week... a little bruised, but still pretty cute!
