CN Race for CHEO

Jack and Ben participated in the CN bike race to raise money for CHEO -The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario. After the race there was a lunch for the participants, and fire trucks and activities for the kids. Jack had lots of fun!

Where the birds are...

There are an insane amount of geese across the street from our house right now. This picture doesn't do it justice, but I had to post something. It's something out of a Hitchcock film.

Happy Easter!

We have had a great Easter Sunday so far! Ben's mom came down for the weekend and Jack has been having lots of fun with his Granny.

Jack woke up this morning to discover that a very sneaky bunny had come during the night and hid all kinds of surprises around the house. We had been talking with him lots about Easter, and that a bunny would be coming and hiding eggs. I realized that he perhaps didn't quite understand the concept when I overheard him telling Ben that a rabbit was coming to our house and that he was bringing groceries. I guess he just figured that some random bunny was coming over and that he'd stop at the store for eggs on the way... considerate guy, that bunny!

Grandma, Grandpa and Auntie Sarah came over for brunch, and brought some Easter surprises for Jack!

Jack is going through a 'serious' photo phase... He's always laughing and giggling, but as soon as you get the camera out, it's stern looks and serious expressions.

This is a picture of my friend Robyn and I- we are about 1 week apart in due dates. I am 30 weeks pregnant in this picture. Robyn is a friend from high school, and her first born son is 2 months younger than Jack, and now we are both having boys again! It's been great to have someone to spend time with and to bounce ideas off of.

Keeping busy...

This is a bear that I recently finished. I seem to have a lot of time on my hands lately- so I thought I would take advantage and catch up on some knitting. This bear was supposed to be for Jack but he keeps telling me that it belongs to his baby brother. My plan was to make another in a different colour, but we'll see.

Growing up...

Today was a big day. Jack helped Daddy and Grandpa Paul take the crib down to make room for his new big-boy-bed! Time is really slipping away from us and we wanted to have him in his new bed for a while before his little brother arrives- to avoid sibling rivalry, and all of that good stuff. I was pretty nervous about the whole situation... a good friend of mine recently moved her daughter into a big-girl-bed and poor little McKenna opted to sleep on the floor for about 2 months! So I really had no idea how this was going to go...

He really got into taking his crib apart. I think maybe this helped him find closure. (?!)

Success! Jack loves his new bed, and had a great 3 hour nap this afternoon. Now we'll just wait and see how tonight goes...

Jack's 2nd Birthday!

Jack had a really great 2nd birthday! We spent the day itself pretty quietly, at home, with just the three of us. On the weekend we had a big family birthday party.

Jack opening up his drum set from Mommy and Daddy on his birthday... it seemed like a really good idea at the time...

Pretty exciting stuff...

Checking out his new easel with Grandma and Autie Sarah.

Getting ready to blow out the candles with Grandma.

Jack's take on American politics...

Jack was sick at home with us on the day of Barack Obama's inauguration and he kept trying to say his name. It was very cute. And then, when I finally went and got the camera, he got a little... mixed up.

There are so few pictures of Ben and I together (as he is the photographer in the family) and so I thought I'd put this one up here. Taken at Gina's wedding in November.

Learning about the nativity scene... sort of...

Jack got a nativity scene from his grandma for Christmas. He was pretty good about identifying "Baby Eeejus" but the rest of us come off a bit clueless in this video... :0)

Some of you have probably already heard our news, but we are pleased to make it official that we are expecting another little one! Looking back at the "old" pictures of Jack as a newborn make me very excited for all of the fun (and, no doubt, chaos) that we have in store. Our new addition is expected on (or around) June 6th, 2009.
